The first Swim Ulster qualifying meet of the current season was held over the weekend of 18th-20th November in the Lagan Valley Leisureplex in Lisburn and the cream of swimmers from Newry were heading to gain much sought after times and all going well, a few medals.

A busy weekend for all but as always the Newry swimmers were on form and everyone achieved personal best times. Shea Rafferty in blazing form, claimed 4 golds in the 50 fly, 100 fly, 100 free and 200 back. Sean Mc Kevitt took gold in the 400 IM, silver in the 100 breast stroke and bronze in 50 fly. Alexander Marfunin took silver in the 200 breast stroke and bronze in the 100 breast stroke. John Moan took bronze in the 200 back and Stephanie Hart took bronze in the 50 back.

A really good start to the season for the swimmers, each moving closer to the times they are looking for to take them towards the Irish divisions next summer.
